Activities of ISDI 2019

January 01
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2019...
January 14 Our most and important mission and vision has always been…to give our DS young adults back to the community…to be appreciated and valued by their own community and the community at large.

A big ambition they say…but we say..nothing is impossible and by the Grace of God…we, ISDI have been met by a great and respectful and one of the oldest lawyer’s company in Indonesia.  This is truly a wonderful and unexpected turn of event for ISDI and all Down syndrome in Indonesia.  The office of lawyers of Makarim and Taira S. Law Firm offered our students the chance of working there at several positions as a start and hopefully working upwards climbing up the ladder.  We are given two weeks for both sides to have a time of adjustment to learn about each other…since this is also the first time the Law office have taken up intellectually challenged people. Cross all fingers and hope for the best. We have done our homework well for many years to prepare them for this day…..and with tears of awe and happiness we send 4 (four) of our best to start working.

About Us

ISDI (Ikatan Sindroma Down Indonesia or Indonesian Down syndrome Society) was formally established on 21 st April 1999. A non-profit support group of parents, medical professions, special-needs experts, teachers, and all of those who have deep concern.

We, as parents are very concerned of the future of children with Down syndrome in Indonesia especially when little is done to support them by the government or other non-profit organizations.

We so look forward towards a better future by sharing our experiences and supporting each other in our monthly gatherings. This way we gain knowledge and our children benefit from our experiences.
